Caring for Dry Skin in the Summer

Summer is here!

It’s not going nearly as awesome as I envisioned it, life balance is hard, isn’t it? My kids are more bored than I anticipated and I haven’t been able to be the mom I’d like to be. However, the summer is still young, and I know we’ll do better. I also know it’s okay to allow my kids to be bored, I was just hoping it wouldn’t be as much as it has been.

We have some seriously hot weather coming up around here, in the 100’s over the weekend which involves lots of pool time and lots of pool time involves lots of chlorine which means we need to take extra efforts to take care of our skin. I’m sure, like a lot of you guys, we spend a lot of time outdoors and in the sun during the summer which can take a toll on our skin. I know I often remember to make sure my kids are lathered up but somehow I often forget about my own!

I don’t go in the pool as often as my kids do, but I certainly am out by the pool hanging out and enjoying the sun, so my skin is definitely still seeing the effects of it. So I’ve got a few tips on how us moms can take care of our skin this summer too!

Caring for Dry Skin in the Summer

My tips are super simple and practical, as always, because I know most of you guys are moms or busy women with other things to do than think about moisturizing your skin! However, with these tips, you’ll be able to have great skin & keep up with your daily life.

Use a Foot Cream

Who has time for a pedicure every couple weeks? Who can afford them? I know I can’t but I still want to wear sandals all summer! My feet can get pretty rough around the heels, but I’ve found that if I apply Amlactin® foot cream my feet are soft as a baby in the morning! It helps prevents plots and cracks & heal calluses. It’s a great tip & perfect for fresh summer feet!

Body Cream at Night

Your body is rejuvenating at night and it’s a perfect time to kinda help it out. Add some Amlactin® Hydrating Body Cream to your rough spots at night — elbows, knees, shoulders — and in the morning they will be noticeably softened. Amlactin has a patented ULTRAPLEX® formula gently exfoliates and is clinically proven to deeply hydrate. It’s a perfect way to rejuvenate your skin through the night while you’re sleeping – multitasking!!

Stay Hydrated

It’s super important, specially in the heat, to stay hydrated. The best thing you can do for your skin is keep it healthy inside and out. Dry a lot of water this summer and try to lay off of the sodas and sugary drinks. This will help your body and skin in more way than one!

Apply Lotion after Swimming

Pool, lake, or beach water can seriously dry out your skin. So much so that your skin even feels tight and dry after a day by the pool. A great way to counteract this is by rinsing off the pool, beach, or lake water & applying some daily lotion. Your skin will soak it up and you won’t feel the negative affects of the day by or in the water. Even if you start to get a little tan, the lotion will help your skin stay healthy in the process.

There you have it! Aren’t they super simple, helpful tips? I sure hope so!

Thanks so much for admitting that your summer isn’t quite going as planned. Me too!! Thankful there is still more left! My 4 kids are bored too 😉 And I’m getting exhausted due to their bickering and late bedtimes.

My feet really suffer in the summer. I try to take care of them with moisturizer but they still look dry often times. I’d love to try the Foot Cream that exfoliates as I use it. I would put it in my pool bag and use it right after the pool. I’m also a pharmacist and I have recommended AmLactin cream before but I had no idea there were so many great products!

I’m glad I’m not the only one whose summer isn’t going quite as planned. Thanks for always being honest and I still have lots of summer left to redeem myself.
My feet really take a beating in the summer. I’d love to try the AmLactin Foot Cream. I’m a pharmacist and I had no idea AmLactin had so many great products!

My son has Keratosis Pilaris. I think I misspelled that! If this lotion will do what it says I would love to try this for him. He has been self conscious about taking his shirt off while at a pool. The bumps get irritated and really red. Sometimes they look like a pimple but their not. So the Ultra Hydrating Body Cream would be my 1st choice if it would help his self image.
If it was just for me I’d choose the foot lotion. I love my flip flops!!! But I can’t keep heels from becoming dry and flaky. They look awful. And you’re right, who can afford a pedicure twice a month. Not me, not anymore. I would love this gift for so many reasons.

I forgot to say that I understand the heat issues….over 100° heat indexes and those days are just going to get worse. We Little Rock, AR. And the temps here are a lot earlier than usual with no rain in sight!

Stay cool and hydrate all day!

AmLactin® Cerapeutic Restoring Body Lotion would be great – my skin could use this as i’m active outside all summer long.

Ahhh…. I still can’t believe the summer is here already! It’s definitely not going as I had envisioned!! As a teacher, I’m constantly on my feet. I feel that I can’t keep them smooth and silky, which is super important in my eyes, unless I moisturize them daily after my shower. I am constantly trying different moisturizers but I haven’t found one I love yet. I’m definitely going to have to try this out….

I’d really like to try the Foot cream and the Ultra Hydrating Body cream. During the summer my feet get really dry and crack. I’ve tried other lotions that said they would help dry feet and they didn’t. My oldest son really dry skin on his arms and I think the Ultra Hydrating lotion would work wonders on his arms.

Thanks for the chance to win this giveaway.
