I am a huge advocate for feeling good about yourself. For confidence. Confidence in you. The way YOU were made, NOT the way you measure up to someone else. I don’t think this message can be shared enough. Unfortunately, this isn’t just a message for young girls struggling with self-esteem. It’s a message for all women. Embrace your beauty. Be who you are. Celebrate you. I am thankful that I learned relatively young to embrace who I am. I am very tall. Taller than the average women and actually taller than most men! But you know what? There’s nothing I can do about that. I can’t make myself shorter. I can’t shrink my huge feet. I will never have small, petite hands. Yes, it’s hard to find shoes and man-hands aren’t the most attractive, but all these things — the good, the bad and the ugly — make me who I am. Who God created me to be. And I’m okay with that. Another thing I like to advocate for around here is feeling good about the way you look. If you wear little to no makeup and that makes you feel beautiful, more power to ya, lady! If you’re like me and feel like on most days you need a little help, more power to ya, lady!! I like doing my makeup. I like trying new looks. I like making my hair look nice. It makes me feel put together and confident. I do these things for myself, but also for my family. I know that sounds a little silly, I mean, I put on makeup for my kids? But what I mean is I like to show my boys a mom who cares for herself. I love my boys and most of my life revolves around them. They know that I love them. So it is okay — not only okay, but necessary — to take time for myself as well. And add an extra 5 minutes in the shower to deep condition my hair. Or use the scrub I’ve been waiting to try. Or heading off to the nail salon because my goodness these tootsies need it! My family functions best when everyone is taken care of. That makes sense, right? But think it through – are you taken care of? Most often we take care of our husbands and kids and even others before we pay any kind of attention to ourselves. Here’s my suggestions – take the time. Start slow if you need to. Try adding 5 minutes in the shower with a nice deep conditioner. It’s really a win-win because you’ll feel refreshed and your hair will look fabulous and thank you later! I have been using Garnier® Wholesome Blends™ for about a week now and I love it. I enjoy using the Color Care line with Argan Oil and Cranberry extracts. I love how soft my hair is and how healthy it feels. It’s paraben-free and gentle which makes a huge difference on my hair. It’s worth making small changes like that to help you feel good about yourself so you can enjoy the most important things in life – the people around you! I also love that Garnier® is committed to making an earth-friendly product. The products are made from PET plastic which is recyclable and the bottles themselves are made from 30% post-consumer recycled waste. They’re also patterned with TerraCycle® to keep beauty products out of landfills. And with the amount that Americans use every day – this is a big deal! It feels good to buy a product where you know that the company is working hard to make a product that works for us and doesn’t leave such a negative mark. If you’re looking to try a new shampoo, conditioner or deep conditioner, go grab some Garnier® Wholesome Blends™! You’ll love the way your hair looks and feels and enjoy your family and friends!!
