Simple and Natural Spring Makeup Tutorial

I love when the weather starts to change and some how our clothes, makeup and attitudes change with it. There’s something about the sun that cheers you up, isn’t there? In California we almost always have sun, but the weather does change a little but during the winter and it’s fun to see the flowers start to bloom and trees turn green. Spring is a pretty season!

Along with nature, we change too, don’t we? I know that I like to start wearing brighter colors. More pinks and yellows and less dark of clothes. It cheers you up! You all know that I love me a good lipstick and I love to start wearing my bright colors in spring! So I thought I would share with you a very simple makeup tutorial you can use for spring. It’s natural, it’s easy, and can be done 10 minutes tops. These are my kind of makeup tutorials!

spring makeup tutorial with Burt's Bees

I was sent these beautiful EcoTools brushes as well as some fun Burt’s Bees lipsticks & BB Cream the other day and I’m already in love. They are available at Walmart and You. Guys. I’m hooked. I brought the bigger Blending and Bronzing Brush with me on my trip to Europe last week and used it everyday (as you can see in the photo!). My old brushes had seen better days. Every time I would use them I would see the little bristles stuck on my face and they were really kinda prickly. These EcoTools are so soft and flexible I look forward to using them everyday! If you have a chance, I would highly recommend that you pick these up at Walmart. They are a new favorite of mine!

The tutorial is super simple, just the way I like it, and natural. That’s what spring is about, right? I did it this way because I want to be able to swap out my lipsticks day to night and completely change the look. Burt’s Bees has some amazing new lipsticks that are so soft and buttery, I want to wear them all! You know I love my lipsticks, but sometimes not knowing what’s in them (or knowing it’s not the best stuff) makes me a little weary. But these babies are beeswax, moringa oil, and raspberry see oil. They are hydrating up to 8 hours and come in 14 different colors!

Of course I’d pull out the red. I mean come on, look at that beauty?! However, for everyday I loved the neutral that is two shades to the left. So gorgeous. It’s enough to add a little color without looking like you’re wearing too much. That’s my favorite every day shade.

Okay, on to the tutorial!

I start with the Burt’s Bees BB Cream. I really liked this cream because it has good coverage without being too much. It’s also not greasy and you don’t feel like you have a ton on. That’s what I look for in a good BB Cream. When I was traveling I put some powder over it, which you can do if you want a little more coverage, but it’s also fine on it’s own.

I used the EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush to apply the BB Cream. I usually don’t use a brush for BB cream, I just use my hands, but I liked this brush! It kept my hands clean and evenly distributed the cream across my face for a natural look. Perfect!

For my eyes I whipped out the EcoTools 6-piece Day-to-night set. I love this set! I didn’t use everything in it because this is just a simple day look, but they are definitely all good to have. Not to mention the travel case is repurposed packing, 100% tree-free paper and it’s super cute! All I did for the eyes was brush one neutral color all over the lid using the Eye Shadow Brush. Then I used the Pointed Concealer Brush for the creases. I blended it all in with the Eyeshadow Brush again. For eye liner, I took the Detailed Lip Liner Brush and brushed a dark brown shadow as my liner. I like this because it keeps it really natural and soft looking.

You’ve always got to add a little blush and I used the Angled Face Brush for that. Voila – I’m done with the face!

Then lipsticks… oh the choices! I went with the fun bright pink, of course!

Now all I need is a tan! Sheesh, even with the sun in winter I’m so pale!

I now use my EcoTools brushes and Burt’s Bees BB Cream on a regular basis for a lot of reasons. For starters, I love Burt’s Bees. Everything I’ve tried of theirs, I’ve loved. I love that they make their products as natural as possible and I feel better about using them. Secondly, the hand-crafted EcoTools brushes are so soft and work incredibly well. Also, every time you share on social media using the hashtag #MyTrueBeauty, EcoTools is donating $1 (up to $100k) to help provide educational support around the world. That’s awesome!

But the bottom line of why I use them daily – they work. The cream is exactly what I want. The brush are soft and feel great on my skin. They distribute the makeup incredible well and… well, they work!

I would definitely recommend grabbing both the EcoTools and the Burt’s Bees. You’ll be thankful you did! And make sure you share with the hashtag #MyTrueBeauty so we can support education around the world!

    Hi Natalia,

I love this post! I’ve been meaning to try the new Burt’s Bees new makeup line but I haven’t had a chance. I’ve been hooked on their gloss for a while (Autumn Haze is my favorite shade), but the BB cream and lipstick look so great on you I’m convinced I will love them! The lipstick is so pigmented and looks moisturizing also. Eco tools are also such a nice natural option for brushes (and a bargain at that). I love their retractable chrome kabuki 🙂

    Love your review!
