I totally meant to post this tutorial this weekend but as it happens I got super sick Friday night and was locked in my room all day Saturday to recover and not to contaminate the rest of our house. It partially worked as only one of our sons got sick and my husband and little guy have been (so far) spared! Praise the Lord both of our kids were able to start school this morning and there was no throwing up after Saturday night! Yay!
Now, on to the hair tutorial. Sorry if the above paragraph was TMI…
Hair seems to be a popular topic around these parts! I’m glad because I like to talk about it. And I really do promise that if you see a style here on the blog, I’m pretty sure you can do it. I’m not a trained hair stylist, it’s just something I happen to like and practice which means you can do it too!
I’ve been sharing some fun hairstyles on my Instagram page and I’m trying to get around to making tutorials for them all! I’ve got my YouTube channel where I do a bunch of styles and I try to share the video & pictures here on the blog as well. Hopefully they’re inspiring you to create your own version on the styles I’ve created!
I’m super happy with how this one came out. By the way, don’t be fooled. I mean, my hair grows fast, but not that fast! I’m wearing Irresistible Me Royal Remi hair extensions in Ginger. They’re a great match for my hair, aren’t they? I don’t really need them, but they are super fun to have to give me more volume and length when I want to play around or be extra fancy. You can definitely do this style without them though!
As you’ll see in the video, I have the hardest time naming the styles I come up with. I mean, I’m so not creative! Half up fishtail is what I came up with for this one. I mean, I guess that’s exactly what it is, so I don’t need to be too creative! There’s a twist on the other side, so I wasn’t sure if I should include that in the name. Nah, I’ll just go with half up fishtail.
All you need for this style is bobby pins… and well, just bobby pins really! I didn’t even use a small elastic. You do need to know how to fishtail braid I hope you can see how I do it in the video, but maybe I’ll do a braiding basics video. What do you think, should I?
Have a great day!
