I am super excited to start Holiday Hairstyle Week with you guys! I’m crazy to be doing it this week because we have Thanksgiving this Friday (for us, here in France, I am aware that it’s normally on Thursdays) and I am doing most of the cooking. I’m super excited about it though, we’ll have about 20-30 people in our tiny house with probably not enough places to sit. But we’ll have a bunch of hungry basketball players and very few Americans so I can’t let too many people down! The Frenchies don’t know what to expect, hopefully it’ll be easy!
Anyway, I digress…. Hairstyle! Yes, this simple twisted ponytail is a winner. I’m super happy with how it turned out. It’s very easy, a couple twists and pins and you’ve got it done. Perfect for the holidays!
Simple Twisted Ponytail
Pretty, right? It’s really, really easy. I have a video below for you to see how it’s done. I find that people like to watch video better than just photos because it explains it better. Hope you like it! Here’s what I used:
- Root pump spray – for volume at the roots.
- Voluminzing blow dry gel – If you have thin hair, this is a must!
- Bobby pins – They are not all created equal! These are my favorite.
- Ponytail holder – any one will do

Does this twisted ponytail look like a holiday hairstyle you would rock? I am trying to find a balance between creative hairstyles and styles that are easy and people will actually wear. I thought this was a good blend. Except the unfortunate thing is that I’m usually so rushed that my hair ends up in a bun. Hmmm… Maybe I should do a style for those of us that don’t plan well enough to leave time to do your hair!
I took some outfit pictures with this hairstyle as well. I got a few new things from Hazel and Olive Boutique and this chambray shirt was one of them. It’s not available anymore, but here’s one that’s similar. When I pulled it out of the package I thought “oh no, it’s huge! This is gonna be like pajamas!” Well, as it turns out, it’s amazing and I can’t stop wearing it. In fact, as I type this I am thinking about putting it on again. hehehe
I wore it here with my No Nonsense leopard print jeggings. They also rock. So it’s like a big over-sized shirt with leggings. A cute pair of boots makes it look and feel a little less like pajamas but these Clark’s are actually super comfortable, so it’s a win-win for me! Excuse me while I go change…
Well, that’s it for today! Oh ya, I can’t forget the video! You can watch it below and subscribe to my channel for more hairstyle tutorials. I am hoping to have a hairstyle everyday this week to prep for the holidays!
I hope you have a fabulous day!!
