I cannot believe that summer is coming to an end! Where did the time go? It must be true that the older you get the faster time flies. I turned 31 on Saturday so I’m getting up there! 😉 With the end of summer brings to an end our simple summer series. Me and the ladies below did one post a month with a bunch of good tips and tricks to make it through summer. And with this being our last one, we thought it would be fun to put together a giveaway! First I’m going to share with you my top knot guide!
If you can’t remember who hosted the simple summer series with me, here’s the fabulous ladies!Natalia @ Ma Nouvelle Mode // Elle at Elle Sees // Cyndi at Walking in Grace // Alison at Get Your Pretty On // Jen at Yummy, Healthy, Easy
Make sure you check out their posts for some great beauty & fashion tips! And of course, Jen’s got some amazing recipes!! (She’s my favorite food blogger!)
Now for my top knot guide. Top knots are really something that every girl should master. When it’s hot or your hair is dirty or you just don’t have time, these are cute alternatives to a regular plain ponytail. Hope to help you spice up your hair game a little bit!
Top Knot Guide
I’ve taken a bunch of top knot looks I’ve done before and round them up to be a great resource for you. They’re simple, so let’s get to it!
It is doable! It’ll look a little different for the shortie, but it’s doable! Check out the tutorial here!
All you really do here is tease, tease, tease, put your hair in a bun and add two headbands! It’s really that easy! Find the tutorial for the double headband here.
I did this one a couple weeks ago, so you might have seen it. It’s really simple and you don’t need much to get it done. I have a tutorial and a video for this double twisted top knot.
Sleek & poofy
The tutorial for this beauty is coming on Friday. I had to leave a teaser in there somewhere! I have made a video tutorial as well, so you can always subscribe to my channel to be one of the firsts to get to check it out!
I did this one last week, so you might have seen this one as well. It’s basically a braid twisted into a bun, but if you want to see how I make the braid look bigger and what products I used to get rid of the frizzes, you can check out the braided top knot tutorial here.
Believe it or not, this is one of my most popular posts here on my blog! Who knew that a messy bun thrown up on your head that took all of 4 seconds would be so popular? Not this chick, that’s for sure! But alas, the art of looking like you just rolled out of bed but you’re still super chic is a fine one that most ladies want to master. Why not start with the messy top knot?
I love this one because it’s not exactly a top knot, but it’s still the same idea. It’s nice to mix things up now and again, ya know? All you do divide your hair into 3 equal (as can be) sections and loosely wrap your hair around into a bun one section at a time. Secure with bobby pins and you’re done! This was included in my original top knot round up!
I wanted to have an option for those ladies that just can’t get that top knot up there but still love the idea. This not-so-top top knot is the perfect balance. There’s a video tutorial for this everyday messy bun here.
Finally, but certainly not least, is the ballerina bun. I love throwing a braid up the back for a little more pizazz! The Ballerina Bun is not hard to master and in this video I show you two different ways you can do it!
There you have it! A great guide to the top knot! I hope you get out there and rock one of these soon, I’ll be so proud! And you know what makes me the happiest of all? When you take a picture and either send them to me or tag me in them via social media. It’s so fun to see you guys trying hairstyles!!
Don’t forget to check out the rest of the ladies and their great summer ideas, I know you’ll love them as much as me! And now it’s giveaway time! Enter via Rafflecopter below (super easy) for $100 Visa Gift Card!! Good Luck!
