Homemade 5 Ingredient Guacamole

Guacamole is a summer staple, isn’t it? By the pool, in front of the TV, or BBQ with friends, there’s always room for guacamole!

Recently, the last 3 weeks, I’ve been doing a cleanse. It’s really great, actually, I’ve lost 6 pounds and I feel great. The particular cleanse I am on limits a lot of what you eat because, well, you’re cleansing your body! But one day I just had a craving for something savory and crunchy and creamy and yummy. But then also healthy.

I thought of guacamole. I mean, it’s just a mix of a bunch of healthy ingredients, so why can’t I have that? Turns out I can. And so I did.

We had a bunch of avocados lying around (I can eat avocados during the cleanse!) so it was perfect. Oh man, was it good! It was finished that afternoon. Not all by me though, promise! I was able to satisfy my craving & stay on track health-wise. That’s a win for me!

I posted on Instagram & people requested the recipe, so I guess I had to make it again. But who would eat it? 😉

Oh yum. The best part of this recipe is that it’s fast & easy too. Not too much going on, just simple and tasty. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 3 avocados
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 lime
  • salt

That’s it! It’s a one bowl operation too, and I love anything that lessens the dishes load!

Here’s how you do it.

  • Scrape out the middle of the avocados into a mixing bowl.
  • Add the juice of one lime and mash them all up to the consistency you want.
  • Cut the tomatoes, garlic, & salt & mix all around.
  • DONE!

Make sure you add enough salt for some good flavor. Of course you can do more or less of any of these if you’d like. You can also add some other things to the mix, although then it wouldn’t be 5 ingredient guacamole. 😉

Serve in a cute little bowl with some chips or even veggies & you’re good to go! Recipe for the brown rice tortilla chips coming next week!

This looks delicious, I am a guacamole fanatic. I don’t know if this is against your cleanse but sometimes when I make guacamole I put a smidgen of blue cheese. It adds a little kick that’s different and also delicious. 🙂

Oh that sounds so good! It is against my cleanse, but when I’m off it, I’ll have to try that!

This looks delicious! Wanna make it but the boy is being difficult and wanta to know the nutritional facts.

I don’t know all the nutritional facts, but if you go to something like My Fitness Pal and enter in all the ingredients it will give you a break down. I’m sure there’s some sites online that will do that as well. It’s all good, healthy things going into it, so it shouldn’t be bad!
