I’m super excited about this week’s hair tutorial because, well, it’s pretty and also because I colored my hair last week and I love freshly colored hair. So that’s fun…
A while back, heck over a year now? I did a tutorial on 13 ways to wear your bangs. Who knew but that post has been crazy popular on here and the one picture that blew it all up was me with my head down and my bangs are braided. Amazingly simple. I would have never guessed so many people would find that hairstyle so interesting, but alas, simple is probably better!
So with that in mind, I created today’s tutorial. I love the braided bangs out of my face look and with some volume & a half-up hairstyle, you’re so classy and chic. It’s perfect. It would also be lovely for wedding hair. If you’re attending or in the wedding, it would be very pretty!
What you’ll need. I created a video tutorial below that you can check out if you’re more of a visual learner, but I’ll explain here a bit too.
- Dry Shampoo. I’m a sucker for Big Sexy Hair brand. But here’s a post on Dry Shampoo so you can pick the best one for you.
- Hairspray. Kenra 25 is excellent.
- Hair pins. Just in case your bangs are too short or start coming out. These are perfect.
Start at the very front of your head with a very small section. French braid just that section about halfway back the top of your head. Continue with a regular braid just to make sure it holds. Secure with bobby pins straight across. Just make sure the bobby pins match the color of your hair and don’t worry about hiding them.
Tease from the French braid back to where you want to secure the half up. Be sure to tease the sides as well. Smooth the tease out a bit without brushing it out entirely. Take the sections you want and loosely and lightly twist and pin at the back of your head. Once you’ve secured it, you can pull out the sides so that it’s not too tight. You can also use the tongs side of the teaser comb to pull on the braid a little bit for some volume there.
That’s it! Easy peezy, right? I really love this look, it seems so feminine and pretty. I also really like my hair out of my face, so this works perfectly!Dress & sweater: Zara // Necklace: ShopSosie
Like I mentioned, I created a little tutorial to go with this style for all you visual learners out there. If you’d like to subscribe to my channel, I’d love it! You guys are the driving power behind this little blog and what makes it go round and I really appreciate your support! I LOVE to get e-mails, Facebooks, Tweets, Instagrams showing me how you’ve tried something fabulous lately. It really makes my day!!
So I hope you do get to give it a try this weekend or sometime soon. I just know it will look beautiful on you!
Have a great weekend!
