Simple Everyday Messy Bun

Happy Friday!! Today is my last day of school, and my kids, before vacation!! Yes, in France they love their vacations. Throughout the school year, every 6 weeks there is a two week vacation. But they must go to school all year ’round, you say? NOPE. They still have two full months of summer. It might seem lazy or not good for the kids to miss so much school, but to be quite honest with you, after having experiences both American schools and French schools, I prefer the French way! They know how to take a break and the kids aren’t over-worked or sick of school!

Not what today’s post is about at all, I got a little off topic there! I’ll save that for another time. Today I have a super cute, super easy messy bun for everyday wear. It’s not a top knot, for those of your with a fear of wearing your hair up so high, but a mid range ‘knot’ if you will. Because of it’s messy nature, pretty much anyone can do it. 🙂 messy everyday bun

So I have a video explanation below which is probably the easiest way to explain, but here I’ll list things that I suggest you have to complete this look. It’s pretty basic, so you could probably do it using whatever you’ve got, but here is what I used.

That’s it! Not so bad, right? You probably already have everything you need! If you want more lift at the roots, use a root pump like Big Sexy Hair or Pantene root lift gel when your hair is wet before you blog dry it. It will definitely add lift. If you’re hair is dirty, try Big Sexy Hair Dry Shampoo, it will clean it up and add lift. It’s truly amazing. Simple every day messy bun

By the way, I am wearing my Origami Owl necklace reppin’ all the family members inside my locket, and my ShopSosie shirt that is so comfortable I wear it more than is probably sanitary… I love their whole store, it makes me want to constantly shop. Specially with spring coming soon I hope!

There you have it! I hope you get to give this a try this weekend! It’s perfect weekend hair. Here’s the video tutorial on how to rock this baby and if you want to subscribe to my YouTube channel to be updated when I load new videos, you can do so here. I’d love to have ya!

    Hi Natalia,

Great tutorial – your “everyday” description of this style is spot on – casual and relaxed but also finished.

Hairstyling is my beauty challenge – you inspire me to try harder! 🙂

P.S. I have hair envy – yours is so long and thick and mine is long but very fine!

Thank you! Although really, I think fine hair you can do more with. Mine is thick and heavy so when I tease it, it will fall out. Whereas fine hair will stay how you want it!! I guess the grass can always be greener! 🙂

I can’t wait until my hair is long again so I can wear it different ways! Love this look!

Thank you! It’s definitely nice and easy! I’m sure you’ll be able to do it soon!
