Eek! I had so much fun doing this challenge! To be honest, when I picked the pieces I said to myself “Oh shoot, Natalia. What’d you do? You’ll never be able to make 7 outfits with this!!” Guess what, self! I made 9 NINE outfits!! And I could have done more. And they were cute. And they were outfits I haven’t worn before but will wear in the future thus expanding my wardrobe. SCORE.
Let’s first start by saying wassup to my fellow hosts. Here’s the deets. Under the pictures are their BlogLovin links so you can go follow them all! You won’t be disappointed, promise. So much inspiration I tell ya.
Here are the pieces I chose:
Here’s the details as close as I could get them.
- Lace Shorts: Windsor Store (onsale for $10.43 in other colors!!)
- Reversable Skirt: Target (on sale for $13.78)
- Striped Shirt: StitchFix
- Jeans: H&M (similar)
- Coral blouse: Kris & Kate (Use NOUVELLE5 for 5% off!)
- Coral Chevron blouse: Kris & Kate sold out but here’s a cute one (not similar – just cute)
- Polka Dot top: A French store – but similar
Okay you ready for it? I have this overview picture and then I’ll go through each outfit. Oh and I’m still learning how to use my camera remote, so excuse the fact that I’m holding it in every picture. Does anyone know how to use it on a timer? That would be super helpful.
There’s a summary of all my nine outfits. I think this is the first time I’ve gone over seven. I know, I’m such an over-achiever. ha.ha.HA
Polka Dot shirt & Lace Shorts
Originally I didn’t think these pieces would be sutied together. And you guys — I don’t own a full length mirror. So I had to take a step of faith here hoping it didn’t look horrendous. And actually, I liked it a lot!! We have super warm days with days of rain thrown in, so this was a perfect outfit for this time of year. If it got chilly, I could always throw on some tights or nylons.
Can I just say… these shooooeeeesss. I’s like you’re walking on clouds except they’re actually really cute shoes. And they go with everything I own, I swear. Or at least that’s how I’m gonna wear them. You won’t be able to tell me otherwise… Although I’m sure my husband will point it out. I know this outfit is casual and nothing super special, but I love it. It’s the perfect mom uniform because you don’t really look like a mom! WIN!
Chevron Top Dressed Up
This went together surprisingly well. Except the skirt is more neon, you can’t really tell here. Once again, those booties. They even work with neon! I chose the belt to tie it all together. This is a new outfit that I really probably wouldn’t have otherwise worn if I didn’t do this challenge. Oh and I was seriously tired when I took these. That explains the dazed and confused look over to the left… It was one of those zone out moments and I couldn’t look away. You know? No? Just me, huh. Boo.
Neon and Polka Dots
Another unexpected outfit! I know it might look obvious, but you know when you have certain things in your closet you only wear a particular way. Then you get stuck in that way and never really branch out? Well, that happens to me easily. That’s why I have to do these challenges, it helps! I couldn’t really get a good shot, but the back of this shirt is a pretty lace. I love it. My husband, however, doesn’t like polka dots. Seriously? Who doesn’t like polka dots?
Bright all over
Can we take a second and talk about this skirt? I mean, really. I thought I might have been a little silly for buying it, although it was on sale. But it’s reversible! I mean, I don’t know if that’s totally 80’s or what, but I love it. This look is so fun too, super bright and cheery. I paired it with my fun nude pumps to tone it down a bit.
Now let’s talk about this top. I just love it. It’s so simple in the front and then it scoops low with a pretty bow in the back. So fun! I love it because you can dress it up or down and it just works. I paired it with my favorite lace up booties for a casual comfy look. See, who said the ‘mom uniform’ had to be boring?
Pink/Blue Striped Shirt
This top is from StitchFix. Personally, I love this styling service. They send you a package monthly for $20 but the $20 will go toward if you purchase anything. It’s fun because it’s different, it’s easy, and you get pieces not everyone has. And I like that. But if you shop on the regular and have time for those types of things, this might not be the service for you. With two little boys that hate the word shopping, I don’t have a lot of time at all. That’s the main reason I love it!
Oh and this scarf is heavenly. I bought it from a street vendor in Paris. I need more.
Polka Dots & Jeans
Initially I wasn’t sure if I was way off with the colors. I mean, coral/pink/blue/black & white? Kinda all over the place, right? But it worked! I paired things together that I wouldn’t have otherwise done and thus creating outfits I didn’t know I had, thus expanding my wardrobe! 🙂 I knew I did this for a reason! This one is another super casual one but still cute. I’m really winning on these mom uniform outfits!
These shorts are cute, right? Is it a skirt? Is it shorts? It’s skorts! Haha totally kidding. But I love these crocheted tiered shorts. They are very comfortable. If you read this blog for a little bit, you might see a pattern. I’m always trying to find cute clothes that are comfortable and affordable. It’s like my mantra. This StitchFix top is blue and pink striped (it’s hard to see) but it makes it look kinda purple but still works with these shorts. It’s a bit funky but that’s part of why I like it!
