Oh my goodness, you guys, my life is crazy. After getting back from my two week vacation/blog conference/visiting family we had my 30th birthday party on Friday and then Saturday morning my husband left to go back to France. Sheesh! Oh and to top it off, we leave tomorrow for Yosemite for a family vacation, yikes!
I know I will have fun, it’s an unplugged family vacation and I love it. My boys absolutely thrive in the outdoors, so that makes it fun too. It’s just that all this craziness translates to this blog getting less attention. It kind of stinks because I have so many ideas I want to do and so little time! I’ll be back in full force in a week or two, promise. Well, I don’t promise, I’ll just do my best!
In the meantime I have some of my favorite beauty appliances that I like to use when styling my hair. Just with these tools in your arsenal you’ll be able to wear your hair so many ways!
Let’s get started! My favorite straightener as of now is the Hana straightener by Misikko. I wrote about it a little here. It keeps my hair nice and straight no matter what the weather is outside. That’s a must in a straightener! I have also heard that the Chi straightener is good.
I think every girl needs a curling iron or two. I have two clipless curling irons, one is Hot Tools and one is Conair. I love them both and they are absolutely perfect for the beachy, natural curls look. But, both of them are tapered, and if I were buying one, I would buy one like this. I also have a regular one inch Hot Tools curling iron. I love it and I even take this one to my clients!
I know it’s a total hassle to blow dry your hair in the summer. It’s hot enough, who needs to add more heat? What I do if I have a day where I care about my hair is I blow dry the roots away from my face for volume until it’s almost dry. Then I add a set of hot rollers (here’s a tutorial on how to use hot rollers) and do my make or finish getting ready. When I’m ready to go, I take them out and bam! I have big, voluminous hair! It still has heat but not nearly as much and you still get a nice ‘do.
I added a round brush because if you are being ambitious you need a big fat one like this to get a proper blow out. I intend to have a tutorial up soon about how to blow dry your hair.
So there you have it! Those are the main appliances that I use for myself & bring along to my jobs. (I do hair for weddings!) Hope you find a thing or two here that you like and that it’s helpful for you! Anything you would add to my list?
