Fine Hair Friendly- Poofy Bun

Hey Lovelies! I am really super excited to be sharing this tutorial with you today and I will tell you why. I have thin, fine, short(ish) hair and honestly, pinterest makes me sad. Well not really sad, but you know when you see that amazing braid and you try it and somehow it looks like it was done on a 3 year old? Yeah, that is me. And that is ok! Because there is a lot of fun stuff to do with fine, thin, or short hair. You just have to know the right methods or the right styles to try. And that is why I started my Fine Hair Friendly series. Lots of fun styles that work for all hair types. So today I am bringing you my fail safe method for a full top knot for short or thin hair. My hair is just above shoulder length and very fine. So here is how I do it!

I have put together a quick picture tutorial below as well as a video tutorial so I think I’ve got you covered! Poofy bun for short hair

What you have to remember with short hair or slippery fine hair, is that you probably will have pieces escaping and it might create a more messy look. Thats ok! We love messy hair over here in “fine, short hair land!” And I have plenty other Messy Hair Tutorials for you. The bottom line is working with what you’ve got and having fun with it. And if getting a sleek ballerina bun isn’t possible, then don’t do a sleek ballerina bun! 🙂 I like this messy look and it can still be dressed up with a dressy headband or worn casual with a turban scarf and shorts. fullbun1

So here’s the video tutorial for your viewing pleasure!

Thanks for spending some time with me today! Hope you will love you hair and maybe give this a try!

Hey Readers! I am blogging over at A Beautiful Window now and would love for you to follow along. Find me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest! <3<3 xoxo Christie

super cute! I can’t wait to try, I have short thin hair so this looks perfect:) How did you separate your hair into the 3 sections??

I grabbed my “bangs” and pulled those into a section. Then I pulled up my hair as if I was doing a half up (on the very top of my head) and pulled that into a section. And then I pulled the remainder into a section as close to the other section as possible 🙂 good luck.
