Happy Monday everyone!
I had a super busy, fun, awesome week last week. My son was on vacation from school (yet again…) and we decided it would be too boring to stick around our tiny town. So what did we do? We headed south, to the sun! And it was amazing.
When we travel, we almost always stay with friends because, well, it’s cheaper. And it’s also super fun to connect with friends we haven’t seen in a while! I visit my friend Stacy every year & since her husband is a basketball player as well, she moves around like us. I’ve been able to visit her in England and Sweden. I’ve been to the south of France, but never to where they live, near Avignon.
Then we headed up near where we lived the last two years. We have a friend who lives in the French country side and can I just say? It’s magnificent! You’ll see, I have some pictures to prove it!
First stop was the Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. It’s the source of the rivers in the south. It was so pretty and it was a beautiful warm day. It was also outside with lots of places for the boys to run, throw rocks, & be free. It was a perfect fit for everyone.
Although for some reason they do not look like they’re having fun here, they were! Promise!
The next day we headed out to Avignon. It’s a beautiful city surrounded by a castle-looking wall. So cool, really. And it was home to the Pope and long time ago when he got fed up with Rome and decided the south would be better. I really don’t blame him.
We had fun taking pictures of Tae like this the whole trip.
Then Eli tried to climb, because he has to do everything Tae does & got scared at the top. He couldn’t stand up and started crying. The funny thing is literally two more steps up he would have been on solid, level ground! Silly boy.
It was such a fun trip! I had the most fun cuddling this little angel. So so beautiful and cuddly and lovely. I think my favorite stage of babies is the infant stage. I don’t want one, but maybe I could be an infant baby sitter or something.
Then I hopped on a train with these two crazies and headed up north a bit. A city called Saint Paul en Jarez, just outside of Lyon.
Here we spent time hiking, playing outside, in the water, in the fields, eating amazing French cheeses & dishes, and hanging out with friends. It was amazing. Amazing, you guys. I didn’t touch my computer at all during the day, truly hung out with my kids. Tae was a complete rock star the whole trip. You know when your kids are so good you think they might have listened to a few things you said? Not sure if it will stick, but he was amazing the whole week.
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen this picture. The boys were so happy just being outside & running in the endless fields. Love it.
Homemade ice cream with fresh fruits. Yuuuuummmmmmm. Eli’s sportin’ the blueberry.
He’s 6 people. Is that what a normal 6-year-old looks like? Just curious.
Then this guy turned 3!! THREE!! Wow, I have a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old. Crazy business. No more babies around here!! Which I’m totally happy about, but it’s also just a little crazy.
Well, I hoped you enjoyed our little trip! It was so beautiful and refreshing. Now to pack our lives into 4 suitcases to head to California on Friday. Can’t wait!!
Have a beautiful Monday peeps!
