New Revlon Palette Tutorial

 
You all may know by now that I am all about beauty for less money and beauty in less time. I am a firm believer that woman can be beautiful on any budget and in any amount of time.

I understand all situations don’t look the same, and if you’re chasing after seven kids as opposed to me chasing after my two, you might have less time than me. I get that. However, that is the exact reason I work to create looks and find products that work for everyone!

I want to take the intimidation out of things like eye shadow and eye liner and makeup palettes. If makeup’s not your thing some of these items might be a little scary to you. I want to show you that really, they’re not scary! They can be done in 5 minutes flat and you can leave that bathroom feeling beautiful and confident!

So, what do you say, do you want to know some of my secrets? Here’s one: I very rarely spend longer than 15 minutes in the bathroom doing my hair and makeup.

Don’t get me wrong, I like to get creative with my makeup looks. I like to try new products and new styles. But it doesn’t have to take an hour for me to do so! I want to look pretty but do it effortlessly and feel confident all day.

Okay, now one of my secrets – eye shadow palettes! They take all the guess work out of which colors go with what and even where to put them! And yet the looks you can create with one palette are limitless because you can mix them around and get creative with it!

I’ve shown you some palette makeup tutorials before in my Revlon Palette makeup tutorial. I used a favorite Revlon palette with four colors called “Moonlit” and it was perfect. However, Revlon has since stepped it up a notch and created the Revlon PhotoReady™ Primer, Shadow + Sparkle:

These Revlon palettes have it all. A primer for before the shadow, three colors to blend together beautifully, and even a shimmer to brighten up the entire look.

Personally I think it would be a fun shadow to take from day to night. All you have to do is your makeup using this palette in the morning, then before your date night, you put the shimmer overlay over your eye and immediately you’re photo ready!

You can also use this palette wet which means if you add a little water to the color it will be more pigmented. So for a more dramatic look you can use the whole palette wet. See what I mean by the options being endless? If you weren’t convinced, it also comes in 8 different color palettes. Bam. You’re welcome.

So today I wanted to show you a quick how-to using one of the palettes so you can be photo ready in a flash!

See what I mean? Easy right? And for your convenience there is actually a step-by-step on the back of the palette. So if makeup is something that is intimidating to you, this is definitely a helpful tool.

Then you can get all brave and start mixing colors and palettes, the options are endless!

I really wanted to showcase how easy & practical this palette is, so I had to enlist some of my peeps to help me. Take, for example, my momma. Love her to pieces, but she’s really not a makeup gal. Probably because she’s so beautiful she doesn’t really need a ton, so most days she wears foundation, a little powder eye liner and mascara. I had her try out this palette, all by herself mind you, and here’s her look:

Isn’t she pretty? I think the shadow look fabulous on her! Here’s what she had to say about the product: “I honestly loved how they gave it to you step by step and seriously I think I might wear eye shadow now! It took the guesswork out of it for someone like me who hasn’t worn eye shadow in ages. It does make my eyes look nice.”

It did, mom, it did. You’re so pretty.

Then I enlisted my sister-in-law. Now she is always stylish and cute. I don’t think she ever reads my blog because seriously, she doesn’t need any help! With two little girls too, I swear, she’s always put together. Anyway, here is Ashley in her makeup looks, she used two different palettes.

*Side note: After growing up with two brothers and lots of boy cousins – having a sister-in-law is pretty stinkin’ cool! Just thought I’d share!*

So cute, isn’t she? I love the way she wore the bohemian colors. Ashley usually likes to wear more muted colors so she was happy to try something new with this palette. She mentioned how perfect it was for a girl who usually doesn’t go really bold, these colors work.

It’s always fun to try something new and with these palettes; you really can! It’s not intimidating since they really just tell you how to use them and that way you can be creative without worrying whether or not you’re doing it right.
