So we talk a lot about beauty on this blog, don’t we? That’s because I like it! Not because I’m a professional or anything, but it’s fun and I feel like hopefully I can relate to a lot of you, woman to woman.
Lately I have been having the hardest time with my skin! Can anyone out there feel me? Seriously, growing up I never had a huge problem and probably took that for granted a bit. Then out of the blue last year my face started to break out. It’s been about a year and I am just now starting to get it under control. But it’s still not great.
And that’s just the break outs. Then there’s the aging thing. As you might know, I am white (shocker!) and my husband is black. The man doesn’t have a wrinkle on his face. It kills me. When we’re 50 he’s gonna look 30 still and I’m gonna look 70. So.Unfair. At least he’s balding a little (yes, I’m a hater like that. I mean, throw me a bone or something!)
So today I am soooo happy (for semi-selfish reasons – I needed to hear these!) to introduce someone to you! Her name is Jodi & she has some amazing skin care techniques as well as some fabulous products to try. I found myself clicking through every link before I even got to writing this intro! So anyway, without further adieu, here is Jodi!

Happy Friday Everyone!
My name is Jodi, I’m mother of one, from Pennsylvania, and I am an Independent Consultant with Rodan + Fields. I’m sure many of you have heard of Proactiv. What you may not know is that approximately 5 years ago Drs. Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields, launched a new line of skin care products, Rodan + Fields, which target adult skin concerns such as sensitive skin, blemishes, sun spots/damage, and the ever hated wrinkles & aging lines. Our products are based on a philosophy of Multi-Med Therapy—using the right medicines and active cosmetics, in the right formulations, in the right order and are made to last you 60+ days. I love helping women and men feel good in their skin again! To see some great examples of what these products can do, please check out my Facebook page or website.
Today I am here to share my skin care tips with you all to help keep your body’s largest organ, your skin, in its best condition. Did you know that only 20% of aging is genetic? The rest is in your control.
Cleanse!
Before I started using Rodan + Fields, I shamefully used bar soap to wash my face. The harsh cleansing ingredients in traditional soap can strip the skin of its natural moisture, leaving it feeling tight and dry. Keeping your skin hydrated is essential to its health and beauty! To discover which of our multi-med regimens would best treat your skin concerns, our Solution Tool takes less than 3 minutes to complete.
Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!
I can’t reiterate this enough! Sunscreen plays a big part in protecting your skin. Lather it on in the morning and reapply throughout the day. Reapplying is probably the hardest part for most to remember, but bottom line: the sun will, without a doubt, prematurely age your skin. A good sunless tanner is a great alternative to baking in the sun.
Stop Smoking
I’m sure you hear this more places than one, but it’s your skins turn to remind you – stop smoking. Smokers tend look about 10 years older than their actual age, with gaunt, washed-out skin and fine and/or deep wrinkles.
The Little Things Count
Sleeping on your face, drinking through a straw… These cause wrinkles! If you don’t think these are activities you want to give up, our Redefine Regimen will help to keep the wrinkles at bay.
Moisturize
Your skin thrives on moisture. And while there are all types of skin, from super dry to super oily — everyone needs moisture. Choose a moisturizer based on your skin type and the relative humidity around you (or your area’s climate).
Exfoliate
Unless you have sensitive skin, you should be exfoliating! Exfoliation is the step most people skip in their weekly skincare routine. But trust me, if you start properly exfoliating your skin, you will notice an almost immediate difference. I’ve been told that one of the reasons men’s skin looks more youthful than women’s is because men tend to exfoliate daily when they shave.
There are a couple of exfoliating options that I use weekly:
- A facial scrub.
- Microdermabrasion. We just started selling a new tool called the Macro-Exfoliator, which is an in-home treatment similar to what you would get in a salon or dermatology office. This thing is a miracle worker! Our 3 month supply sold out in just 3 short weeks! That’s how in demand this is. My PC Perks customers will be the first to know when this becomes available again and will be able to purchase it at my consultant wholesale pricing. Contact me to learn more about this great tool and PC Perks Program.

I sincerely hope that you liked them and are able to put them to use! Feel free to pass them along.
As Natalia says, “Embrace YOUR beautiful!”

My skin has been an absolute disaster lately and I can’t figure out why, maybe I’m getting older and its changing or maybe post-baby hormones are wreaking havoc. Either way I need to find new products that work!
Hi Em! Post-baby hormones can definitely have an effect on skin. These products work so well that’s a large part of what made me decide to sell them! You’ve got nothing to lose in trying them. We offer a 60-day empty bottle money back guarantee if you don’t see the results you were looking for. I wish you luck in getting happy with your skin again : ) Let me know if I can help!
Lately I have been trying the oil cleanse method. Olive and Castor oils mixed. Rub gently on face and then rinse with warm water. It works great as a cleanser and moisturizer but I still need something for my wrinkles.
I use some Boots products. I have a gentle cleanser that I use with an exfoliating sponge, and then I follow with toner and moisturizer. But I’m definitely not thrilled with the way my skin looks all the time.
I have been using Proactiv for about 6 years due to adult acne that started around my cheeks and chin. Like a lot of women I didn’t have acne until I hit my mid 30′s. I have tried multiple skin care lines, I’m a sucker for advertisements that promise you’ll look 10 yrs younger in weeks. Right now I’m using Josie Maran argan oil and Garnier Ultra-lift targeted line smoother. I’m excited to try the new line of products from Rodan + Fields. I have sensitive skin and I think my skin could benefit from products that are targeted for my skin issues.
I have 4 teenage sons that use Proactiv products. They are great! OK…fingers crossed on the giveaway! haha…thanks for the chance! xo
facewash scrub then moisturize
wash, exfoliate, clarisonic, serum, moisturizer for face and eyes, facials
I wash my face and moistureize every night before bed.
My Skin Care Regimen consists by day & night so in the morning I wash my face with a foaming cleanser, tone, use a mattifying face serum, eye cream and put on an SPF Moisturizer(makeup only on some days). At Night I will wash my face with a cream cleanser, tone. use an anti-aging serum, eye serum, eye cream, and a firming night cream. I will do a mask on my face about once a week and exfoliate No MORE than Twice a Week.
All I Really do is just cleanse, tone, put some eye cream and moisturizer on in the day & night. I will use a Peel every now & then and wear a mask probably twice a month.
My girlfriend washes her face and uses facial cleanser daily!
I’ve heard of the oil cleanse method. I’m glad you have something that works for you! Let me know if I can help you attack your wrinkles. It’s better to start early to keep them under control. Thanks for entering!
Lately the major part of my regime is moisturizing and using repair serum.
I dont do much I just wash my face (thoroughly) every night and use acne pads
i was my face before bed and when i wake up
facewash then moisturize in the shower
I was an mositurize at night and in the morning I apply moisturizer.
Daily it’s soap and water with a moisturizer after. A few times a week I will us St.Ive’s apricot scrub on my face during showers.
I’ve actually been trying a lot of DIY skin care. I stocked up on some coconut oil, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon, baking soda, eggs, etc. You name it, I’ve tried it. But I have yet to find anything that targets around the eyes! Being a mom who gets little sleep, you definitely need some help!
High Heels and Training Wheels
My routine/regime and the products I use have served me well for 20+ yrs. but I’m thinking it’s time to change….there’s a big difference from being 30 and being 50 and menopausal. These products sound wonderful and I’d like to try them
Thanks for the opportunity!
I wear SPF 55 every day (I live in Miami, sun is so strong here!), I cleanse my face very well with my Clarisonic at night and apply antioxidant serum and moisturizer
I clean my face with a mild cleanser and lotion daily.
I’m currently trying coconut oil as a moisturiser and cleanser. I’ve got sensitive skin, so tend to react to pretty much everything.
Cleanse, witch hazel astringent, moisturizer, sunscreen.
Makeup remover, cleanser, then anti-aging cream.
I use a moisturizing/makeup removing wipe and then apply lotion.
I cleanse with facial cleanser each day, and use an exfoliating scrub every other day. Afterwards I use some salicylic acid gel on those pesky blemishes (which are popping up in abundance lately for some infuriating reason), then I apply an eye cream, then a wrinkle serum, and finally I top the whole thing off with lotion tinged with sunscreen. Whew! Even typing it was long winded.
I wash my face in the morning and at night and moisturize after washing.
Unfortunately I only use a exfoliating face wash and bar soap. My skin seems to be oily and acne prone no matter what the over the counter product I’m using .
Um… I don’t really have one. I take my makeup off most nights and moisturize almost every morning, but that’s about it.
I wash my face every night and then apply eye cream and mascara; every morning I rinse my face with warm water and then apply a daytime moisturizer.
The only time I wash my face is in the shower. I’ve been blessed with wonderfull skin, I can count the number of breakouts I’ve had on one hand, HOWEVER- It seems every time I try and introduce any lotions or soaps I have a terrible reaction. I want to start using toners, I’m just afraid my skin won’t tolerate it :/
I wash twice morning and night and moisturize with petroleum.
all i do is wash my face with water
Lately I’ve had to change my regimen. I use a clarisonic at night with dial soal. Breakouts began again with weather change, so I’m trying to find new products that will calm it
I cleanse and moisturize twice daily.

I love your blog and I’m really excited for the giveaway. What I usually do is just wash my face with a mild soap lol
My skin care regimne is very simple! I just use soap and water to clean my face!
Not enough!! wash with gentle cleaner then moisterizer
aveda skincare regime
I use a exfoliating cleanser then witch hazel then a moisturizer with sunscreen during the day and an eye cream and restorative moisturizer at night
I have been battling Acne since I was a teen. I have tried everything. I’m currently using a product that has a wash, toner, and repair cream. I do this twice daily.
St.Ive’s apricot scrub is what I use and dove soap too
I have a crazy regimen where i use several dif products everyday!
My routine is pretty boring, I usually just cleanse in the morning and before bed.
Always sunscreen daily for sure, anymore as adult I have to use acne products ! Blah
My regime is whatever is on sale!
If you’re in your 20s, you can still use gel cleanser to wash your face, but you can switch to cream when you’re in your 30s. I couldn’t agree more that using sunscreen will help reduce premature aging. And yes, smoking will make your skin look dull. Choose a moisturizer fit for your age and skin types. Microdermabrasion can be added to your beauty regimen when you’re in your 30s. If we start to take care of our skin early, we will determine its health for the rest of our life.
A good sunscreen is something i need to start using everyday. Thanks for the tips
