Get Your Active On

This year we live about five minutes walking distance from the school my son attends. Now this might not be a big deal, but since I don’t have a gym membership, I have to find another way to stay active.

I am a firm believer that being fit and being active doesn’t have to look a particular way. It could mean brisk walking or a hard core work out. It could mean a volleyball game (my preference) or an hour on the treadmill (not my favorite).

I also am a firm believer that confidence and the way you feel about yourself is a huge factor. I know, I understand that if you’re trying to lose weight, then you might not be feeling so confident. But have you ever hear of the ‘fake it til you make it’ mentality?

Dress cute, look the part, feel good about yourself and the rest will follow!

I love workout clothes. Not because I work out often, but because there are ways to look cute while wearing Yoga pants or active gear. I’m not saying never get dressed, but you know, for those days. You don’t want to get dressed, but you don’t want to be sloppy either? Well, I have a solution for you. Old Navy to the rescue!
Did you know that Old Navy has the cutest line of active wear? I mean, so cute! Here are some of my picks:

Get your active on Old Navy

I haven’t received mind yet but I wanted to tell you about them because I’m so excited!

If you’re an active person, you understand sweating it out. But you know, that isn’t always the most flattering look for a girl. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about puttin’ in work, but Old Navy actually has GoDRY moisture-wick fabric to help you stay dry while you’re working out!

And since I like to wear spandex while I work out or play volleyball, their compression technology is something I’m excited about! To make everything look a little more… well… tight. Fake it til you make it people!

They are having an amazing sale right now too, up to 40% off (until the 16th – get at it here). So obviously I had to share this with my mom and of course she ran off to grab some of her own active swag! She was able to get 10 pieces for a little over $70. If you know anything about active wear and what constitutes ‘normal pricing’ you know that this is an amazing deal.

And seriously, how cute is my momma?

When she told me she had bought some gear for herself, I had to have her take some pics and let me use them. Isn’t she nice? My dad bought some gear too, but he didn’t want to pose for the camera.

I hope you’re encouraged to get out there and be active, in whatever way works for you! Take a walk, ride your bike, play tennis, do some yoga — the options are endless! Life isn’t always about losing weight or being at a particular number, it’s about leading a balanced, healthy lifestyle. Why not look cute while doing it!

Head over to your closest Old Navy or check out online, there are seriously some amazing deals going on. For example, in the top picture that I put together, all of that together is less than $100. I have bought one pair of yoga pants for more than that before!

What is your favorite way to Get Your Active On? I’m always looking for new ideas!

I am guilty of the sloppy look and I totally need to stop! I need fancy around the house/workout clothes!

It’s so true! I am guilty too. And I do notice the difference with how I feel as well, too, when I am wearing nicer clothes, even if it’s just nicer work out clothes! Hope you got a chance to check them out!

I joined a Zumba class and have eliminated white sugar and white flour from my diet!

That’s great Donna! I gotta try a Zumba class, I bet they’re fun. I’m sure I’d look like a dork, but oh well!

Any kind of activity would be an improvement for me. I have fallen so hard and far off the working out bandwagon that I am feeling like a lost cause. Maybe I just need a little incentive…like new clothes> Yes, I could probably hop back on the wagon for cute clothes.

    Your mom is adorable!

Totally! A couple years ago all I did was walk Tae to school (granted it was like 6 times a day) but I was thinner than I had ever been in my adult years. Even when I was playing volleyball! So it works, even if it doesn’t feel like this huge work out! Start slow and do it! 🙂
