I am realizing lately that I have a passion for helping women feel confident. I feel like as women (myself included) we spend so much time comparing ourselves to what we see or what we think other’s lives look like. Instead why don’t we spend more time looking at the beautiful things in our own lives? What is beautiful about yourself? Inside and out, what do you love?
Now, fitness and weight is a touchy subject for women. Probably because it’s such a difficult battle for most of us! I am not a fitness nut or a health nut, but I have found a way to stay fit without hitting the gym. And the best part? I love it! So it doesn’t feel like a workout! Here are my tips.
Find something you love
I don’t really love the gym. I like it when I’m done, most of the time, but I don’t like to spend hours on a treadmill. I suck at running. I so wish I was better, but I’m not. I hate weights! But I looooove playing volleyball! I played in college and hadn’t played in a while until a friend of mine got me back into it. Now, it’s my form of exercise. It doesn’t feel like a hassle because I enjoy it & I get fit while having fun!
Yes, it is tough. With a million different things to do, kids to take care of, dinners to make, husbands to love, it’s hard to find the time. But carve a consistent time out of your day (or week) to take time for you & your form of exercise. Your body, your health, & your man, will thank you for it!
Don’t underestimate the small stuff
One year in France I had to walk my son to school at least 6 times a day. It was about a mile (people walk more in France) and obviously I did it round trip. I didn’t do any other form of weight training or fitness that year and I was as thin as I have ever been in my entire life, and healthy. I was shocked at how much just a little walking could do. If you can get only a mile a day, that’s more than nothing!
I am a big supporter for “dressing for the job.” No one can tell me that a cute pair of shoes & a hot dress doesn’t make them feel better. It’s the same for fitness. I guarantee that if you dress cute for the gym, or for yoga, or for volleyball, you will feel better about doing it!
I was sent a sample of their gear and, ladies, I love it. I don’t buy a lot of workout gear for myself because it can tend to be so expensive. Well, pvBody has come up with a way for us to receive super cute, comfortable, & fashionable workout gear for a fraction of the cost!
The shirt they had for me was like silk. It was so smooth and soft. I made all my teammates feel it. And of course they loved it as well! I also don’t usually like wearing sleeves, but this one was so comfortable, it didn’t bother me. I played an entire tournament in the top and it was perfect.
