Every year, around this time, we all start thinking about Christmas gifts. And I don’t know about you, but I always want to get gifts that are beautiful, truly meaningful, and something that really fits that person. Gift cards just don’t cut it for me.
Take my younger brother and his wife for instance. They love pictures. Family pictures. Candid pictures. Their wedding pictures. My brother is really into capturing moments and displaying them in their home. I love this because, seriously, who gets pictures printed anymore? Case in point – their picture wall.
Pretty impressive, right? My favorite is the one of little Emma crying on the right. So cute! And so cute that they would display that — it’s part of life, right? Love it. And you see that sign in the middle there? The Durso Family. My brother loves his last name. He even made his website ericdurso.com. I, on the other hand, wasn’t all that sad to give it up. 
So when it came to a personal, special gift that would fit so well for their family, I just knew that Alphabet Photography would be a big hit. I was worried at first they wouldn’t have room, but Ashley was so excited, she assured me it would be fine.
Aren’t my nieces cute? I mean, look at those little girls! The package came in a long box, wrapped in bubble wrap (fun for the girls!) and then wrapped in a beautiful little package with a thank you note attached. It was perfect because I didn’t even have to re-wrap it to give it to her.
When you go on Alphabet Photography’s website, you will see that you enter your name or word that you’d like displayed. I’ve seen ‘family’ before, or something similar is also really nice. Then it automatically generates pictures to fit in your word. If you don’t prefer the way a certain letter looks, you can swap it out with one of your choice. The artwork has a 3” solid wood frame with a dark Chocolate finish accented with gold leaf. It is contemporary, sophisticated, and elegant and is the perfect addition to a modern or traditional home. The frame is matted with a museum quality double mat with a V groove.
The size of the artwork is perfect. Even living in a small apartment, Ashley was able to not only make it work, but turn a plain wall into a fabulous picture wall!

We decided to rearrange a wall in their house to make this piece the center of attention. Here’s how we did it:
We laid the art work on the floor in the living room and arranged it how she wanted it on the wall. It worked great because she already had a picture wall, but wasn’t entirely happy with the way it looked and this was the perfect chance to revamp that. After taking a picture of how it was laid out on the floor, we proceeded to hang them all!

I really am in love — I think it is so beautiful! And as much as I would have loved to keep it for myself (with my last name of course) I think it is hanging where it belongs. But rest assured when we settle down and stay in one country for longer than 6 months, I’m gettin’ one of these bad boys for my home!

I love photography art, but I just think it can be so overpriced, so I started to make it myself! You just have to find your 8 year old self that sees letters in everyday objects, zoom in the right way, and it’s actually very simple and really fun. Highly recommend!
If you’d like to give it a try yourself, I’m sure that’s an option. But the quality of the product, the frames & the matting really is worth it! It was very nicely done!
