I am pretty excited about today’s post. I have been wanting to create my own DIY body scrub for a while now but just hadn’t gotten around to doing it. Finally this weekend I made up my mind to do it! And guess what, it took my all of 20 minutes. This is perfect for bridal shower gifts for guests, or even Christmas gifts for all your favorite girlies. Or just nice to have for yourself!
DIY Coffee Scrub: A latte for your skin!
It’s really simple and doesn’t take a lot of ingredients. In fact, you probably have everything in your pantry already. Here is what you’ll need:
- 1 cup of ground coffee
- 1 Tbsp Kosher salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- tad bit of flavoring (pictured is almond but I used vanilla)
- 1/3 cup of oil of your choice
Grind your coffee beans until you have 1 cup of ground coffee. Or of course you can just buy ground coffee. Dump them all into a bowl and stir together. Then add the oil and mix until moistened. Store it in an air tight container and you’re done!
There are a lot of body scrubs you can make at home with items you probably already have. I chose coffee because of its benefits on the skin. It is known to reduce inflammation, get rid of under-eye circles, and even get rid of cellulite! This article on Yahoo! talks about the benefits of caffeine for your skin. I might be using this a little more often!
I hope you enjoyed this and are able to give it a try! Just in time for ideas for Christmas gifts, or even teacher appreciation gifts — really the options are endless! I think I’ll keep this batch for me though!
Have a great day!

Nice!.. I’ll have to try this!
sweet! I totally want to do this!
I love this idea. I saw your link on The Shabby Nest. I have pinned because I think this will make great gifts and different from the salt/sugar scrubs.
Thank you, I am so glad you like it!
Hey, Natalia! I actually saw this on pinterest first. I made it the other day using coconut oil. It looks like crushed up oreos, but smells really good, and my skin feels very soft. Thanks!
That actually sounds really good! I didn’t have any other oil, but I know there’s a lot of choices. Glad you liked it!
