A little while back, actually at the beginning of the summer, one of my very best friends got engaged. We were so excited and just knew that she had to have an amazing engagement party. So my mom and I came up with a carnival themed engagement party! I have to admit that my mom did most of the work and spent most of the money to make this party as amazing as it was. She’s a rock star I tell ya.
She’s such a rock star that I knew I had to share it with you all. We had a ton of candy (which was left over for way to long!) and some yummy heart shaped pie pops (that I made using this tutorial), and most things you would find at a carnival. Cracker jacks, remember those? Cupcakes, red vines, huge pixi sticks! Lots of yummy goodies.
We had the party at my aunt and uncle’s house, which is amazing in and of itself. We had fresh popped popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, and a little drink bar with totally cute signs that my mom made.
All of those machines for the snow cones etc. my uncle already had. Another awesome reason to have the party at their place. Good thing they are amazing people and constantly open up their home for people. I am blessed to call them family!
A banner with their names, a cute photo booth using curtains that used to be hanging in the living room (until the dog pulled them down…), we used the props we had made for Christie’s baby shower, little flags stuck in buckets of peanuts with big suckers, were all little details to pull it all together! Then, what I thought was the cutest was the tickets and the little poem. It was for people to write a creative idea for the couple to do together so they will always have ideas for spending time together! To top it off, she wrote the poem herself!
Here is what the poem says:
When the wedding is over and married life’s begun we want Bri & Chad to keep having some fun Each day they need prompting they’ll reach in the jar and find your suggestion as sent from afar so put your idea down for ways to stay close and they will be thankful for that daily dose!I hope you enjoyed this party and maybe got a few ideas you can use for yourself!
Oh and in case you were wondering, my mom, with all the great ideas & creative poems, she is co-owner of The Pomegranate Basket. Obviously, they’re excellent with paper goods and many other things. You should check them out!
Have a Grrrr-aatee weekend!!
