Red, White and Blue Whale?

As if dressing for the 3rd trimester wasn’t difficult enough, add to it the pressure of coming up with a holiday themed frock and you have got yourself a bonafide challenge! So for this years (blazing hot!) Fourth of July affair, here is what I came up with:

Red, White and Blue WHALE!

As I said earlier, it was a hot day! (Actually it wasn’t as hot as it normally is in July, but my body did not seem to register that!). And because I knew I would be chasing after my kiddos all day I wanted to be extra comfortable…..enter the Maxi Skirt…..the most comfortable thing to wear on the face of the planet. Again you see my very favorite look right now, the layered tank tied above the belly. And for the color blue…….

I don’t wear these earrings very often but somehow with this outfit, they just worked. They added a little something to the whole ensemble that said “Happy Independence Day! Let’s celebrate!”

Skirt: Kohl’s, Red Tank: Charlotte Russe, White Tank: Target, Shoes: H&M, Earrings: Street Fair

And just because I have not done an actual pregnancy update for a long time. I am now in my 34th week!

Fitness: Sporadic. Some weeks I make it to my kickboxing class and some weeks I only swim with the kids. Mostly I am counting on the fact that I am remaining very active to make up for my lack of gym time.

Food: I WANT to eat everything, but eating has lately been making me feel ill afterwards, so I have been mostly snacking all day long instead of one big meal.

Sleep: Not happening anymore…..

Emotions: All over the place. God Bless my husband.

Weight Gain: I already reached my goal!!!! (If you think about that, it is not a good thing :))

Well I think that covers all the basics! Have a wonderful week. XOXO- Christie

Love it! I’m going to layer me up some tank tops ASAP!

I’m 29 weeks and I’ve already reached my goal too– the next 10 or so weeks have me nervous. Ha! It’s also my first pregnancy so I’ve got the added unknown of it all. But you’ve inspired me to start doing some pregnancy fashion posts on my own website– watch out Ross and TJ Maxx! Mama’s got a whole new project . . .

This is awesome! So glad I have given you ideas! And just in the way of encouragement, I always gain the bulk of my weight between the 20-30 week period an then it slows down significantly at the end:) hang in there!

I love how you layer and tie tanks! Such a cute maternity look, I need to try it sometime. 🙂 I wore a maxi skirt on the 4th too….so comfy and cool for those hot summer days!

You look amazing!! I love the maxi skirt and layered tank look, so cute! Almost makes me wish I was pregnant in summer 😉

Ha! I like the “almost” 🙂 Is it weird that I actually prefer to be pregnant in the summer? Just seems to go faster for some reason. Thank for the comment !

There’s no whale in that outfit!  You look adorable!  I wasn’t able to pull together a whole red white and blue outfit this year…but I’m still between maternity and post partum clothes, so I wasn’t going to worry about it.  Here’s hoping that you feel better soon!

    Hey, Christie!
Just wanted to say that you’ve looked amazing during your pregnancy.  Pregnancy was my most favorite part.  I just LOVED being pregnant.  Loved the hat you wore yesterday evening, so cute!  Can’t wait to see your new addition.
