It has not be that hot. Ok! I get it! Everyone keeps telling me that the weather has been so nice….. Why do I feel like I am dying of heat!? I am the girl who is always cold normally, but stick a baby in my stomach and I am boiling up ALL THE TIME! Today I did not want to wear a maxi dress (My legs needed to breath) and I did not want to wear something belted (because if one more thing is clinging to my body I will scream!) All I wanted to do was put on some comfy, drawstring shorts. I was headed to church and I wanted to look somewhat nice and then I was headed to my parents for a bbq where I wanted to be comfortable. So here’s what I did:
A Little Dressed Up
Again, I just love wearing shorts with heels. I think it pretty much always looks good! AND here you see me wearing something cropped over a long tank top. You may have noticed a trend in my maternity style…..It works ladies! So far I have always felt just a little bit cuter when I layer my stretchy long tops under something colorful and/or flowy. It creates an interesting look that is not all about drawing attention to my stomach. This cardigan in particular actually sort of hid my tummy a little bit and I really felt girly and less “tubby” (yes, “tubby” is the description for how I feel lately).
Casual & Cute
Can I just say that I loved this look! Oh I was so comfortable! And my husband told me how cute I was 🙂 And I will let you in on a little secret……the shirt is MATERNITY!!! AHHH! I totally broke my “no maternity clothes” rule for this top! I just loved it when I saw it and I knew I would not regret buying it. In fact, I like it so much I am bound and determined to alter it in a way that will look cute after the baby is born.
So what do you think? Can you come up with a few different ways to wear your shorts? Have you ever tried dressing them up a bit? Pregnant ladies, is there any look you think is impossible to wear while pregnant that you would like me to “experiment” with? My maternity window is closing and I want to try out as many things as I can! Have a lovely week! XOXO- Christie
I keep saying “i need to get some shorts…” You look so cute!
LOVE these shorts on you! You wear them so well.

You look adorable! Love those shorts! I know what you mean about being the girl who is always cold, but with a baby in my belly I’m suddenly always burning up!… I’m in my third trimester as well and am never the one who is cold anymore! 😉
lol! My husband is totally weirded out by the fact that I am running the air conditioner when he is freezing! Good luck in your 3rd trimester!
you said impossible… the belts and higher waists! (kendi style?) i get so sad i can’t join in this one! empire waist i can do, but… also, my belly is twice (at least) as big as yours (i’m 28 weeks) ha. good luck 😉
