I am excited about today’s tutorial! About a week ago I asked you on our Facebook page which hairstyle you would like to see up next on the blog. I loved the responses, but the one with my most requests was this beauty. So after looking at it for a minute, I thought I would give it a go! I am so happy I did because it actually turns out to be a lot easier than it looks.
The biggest problem I had was the name! I could not come up with a name! I asked again on Facebook (you guys are a great resource!) and the suggestions flew! From Rupunzel, to wispy goddess twist, to my fair lady, to “I don’t know, just show me the tutorial!” I didn’t really land on anything. So here are a few pictures of my take on it, and after you watch the video, be sure to leave your name suggestion for it in the comments!
I have put together a video tutorial for you as well so you can see how easy it really is. Few things I need to clarify. The back bun part of mine is a little neater than hers. This can easily be changed by just bunching up the back and pinning. In the video I suggested I was going to give a quick tutorial on how to rope braid and then didn’t for the sake of time, so if you didn’t pick it up from the video, here is a rope braid tutorial. I didn’t mention, but in the beginning of the video, my hair is no heat curls with volumizing root spray from the night before, added a few curls in the morning and then teased the roots. A ‘how to tease your hair’ video is coming soon!
Okay, I think I cleared everything up! I really hope you watch it and enjoy it and learn a new hairstyle today! Feel free to pin and share if you liked it!

Gorgeous! As always! I wish I could help with the name.. Im not good at that kinda thing
So pretty! I love it! Hmm… I was thinking for the name…. Goddess Twist (loved that idea)? Pretzel Updo? Ballroom Twist?
Those are great names too, it’s just so hard to land on something! Thanks for your comment!
I love this-thanks for the tutorial! The first thing I thought of when I looked at this was that it looked like it came straight out of ‘Avonlea’! Have you ever seen the “Anne of Green Gables” movies?? As for me I will consider this the ‘Avonlea twist’
Great job and you have beautiful hair!
I have and I love them!! The books and the movies! Actually, that is probably the best suggestion I have heard yet because it fits. I think you’ve won it! Thanks so much for the suggestion!
Wow! I thought you might think I was crazy or something and would have no idea what I was talking about! I almost didn’t suggest anything out of fear of embarrassment….this is very encouraging
